One Year Warranty

1. What’s Covered

  • Manufacturing Defects: Any fault arising from craftsmanship or materials, such as broken stitching, hardware malfunction (zippers, clasps) under normal handling, or separation of seams not due to misuse.

  • Material Flaws: Unexpected issues in the leather (e.g., delamination) or hardware finishes that fail under ordinary wear.

  • Engraving/Customization Errors: If the engraving is misaligned or incorrect due to our production process (not due to an error in the information you provided), we will correct it.

2. What’s Not Covered

  • Normal Wear & Tear: Leather naturally develops patina and slight scuffs over time; these signs of use are not covered.

  • Accidental Damage or Misuse: Cuts, stains, scratches from sharp objects, exposure to harsh chemicals, water damage beyond normal use, or damage from neglect.

  • Unauthorized Repairs or Alterations: If repairs or modifications are made by someone other than Melaniva’s authorized service team, the warranty is void.

  • Loss or Theft: This warranty does not cover lost or stolen items.

3. How to Claim Your Warranty

  1. Within One Year: Contact our Customer Support team at support@melaniva.com (or via Shopify chat) as soon as you notice a potential defect, but no later than one year from delivery date.

  2. Provide Details: Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos showing the defect. For engraving issues, share an image of the engraving area.

  3. Assessment: Our team will review your request promptly (typically within 2 business days). If needed, we may ask for additional photos or ask you to send the bag back for inspection (we cover return shipping for approved warranty claims).

  4. Repair or Replacement:

    • Repair: If feasible, we’ll arrange for a repair under warranty at no cost to you.

    • Replacement: If repair isn’t possible (e.g., irreparable material flaw), we’ll replace the bag with the same model, leather shade, and engraving, or offer a comparable alternative if the original is discontinued.

  5. Turnaround Time: Our goal is to complete warranty repairs or replacements within 2–4 weeks after we receive the bag. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.

5. Tips for Caring for Your Melaniva Bag (to prolong its life)

  • Regular Cleaning: Wipe leather gently with a soft, dry cloth. For light stains, use a leather cleaner recommended for fine-grain leather and follow instructions carefully.

  • Avoid Excess Moisture: If exposed to water, blot dry with a soft cloth and let air-dry naturally; do not apply heat.

  • Store Properly: When not in use, keep the bag in its dust bag, stuffed gently with tissue to maintain shape, and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • Handle with Care: Avoid contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces; be mindful of placing the bag on abrasive areas.

  • Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner suited to the specific leather type, following product instructions, to maintain suppleness.
